To
make share its knowledge, its passion and its cabinetmaker's
smartness, Chris Roussel
gives approachable lessons to all, beginners as well
as confirmed. Chris will initiate you, by the rule book,
to the fabrication and the restoration of pieces of
furniture and objects of decoration and will assist
you in relooking your objects or your pieces of furniture,
as you wish it, by leaving free your own imagination.
Chris's Workshop is a space of meetings, exchanges and
transfers of knowledge notably in history of art and
French styles (particularly of the XVIIIth century).
The techniques which are taught with good mood, as well
as a diligent practice, will allow you to find your
own style and to give body to your plans.
The Workshop is also a place where mix passionate people
of any ages who share their enthusiasm and who weaved
strong and lasting bonds,in the course of the years
of .
As part of his lessons (compounds of
a maximum of eight pupils), Chris tries first of all
to fit to each pupil to allow him to acquire the foundations
of the techniques of cabinet making and restoration
which will be necessary for him to accomplish, transform
or restore the object or the piece of furniture that
he has chosen. According to wishes or aptitude which
Chris’s discerns, he will propose the study
of new know-hows sometimes unknown to the pupils.
Today, more than forty pupils learn with Chris
Roussel, on a regular basis, about the art
of restoration, marquetry, gilding, sheen, copy of
marble, fresco and sculpture.
